As we gather with family and friends to celebrate the season of gratitude and togetherness, there are many fun traditions that we participate in to make the holiday season even brighter.
A Fun New Tradition: We’ve Been Gobbled!
One fun new tradition is “We’ve Been Gobbled!” This playful game involves secretly leaving treats and goodies on someone’s doorstep with a sign that says “We’ve Been Gobbled!” The person who receives the treats then gets to continue the game by secretly gifting someone else with treats and the sign. The game continues until everyone has been “gobbled” and the neighborhood is filled with holiday cheer!
How to Play:
First, you’ll need to gather some supplies. You’ll need a copy of the “We’ve Been Gobbled” sign, which you can download for free online. You’ll also need some small treat bags or boxes and some tasty treats to fill them with. Candy, cookies, and small toys are great options!
Next, choose the first person to be “gobbled.” It could be a neighbor, a friend, a family member, or anyone who could use a little holiday cheer!
Sneak up to their doorstep and leave the treats and the sign. Make sure to be stealthy so that they don’t see you!
Once they find the treats and the sign, they’ll know they’ve been “gobbled” and it’s their turn to continue the game. They’ll need to choose someone else to “gobble” and deliver treats and the sign to their doorstep. Make sure to go at different times of day so that the game stays a surprise!
The game continues until everyone in the neighborhood has been “gobbled.” It’s a great way to spread holiday cheer and make everyone feel loved.
Other Fun Holiday Traditions:
In addition to “We’ve Been Gobbled,” there are many other fun traditions that we participate in during the holiday season. Here are a few ideas:
Cookie Exchange:
A cookie exchange is a fun way to try new treats and spend time with friends. Each person brings a dozen or two of their favorite holiday cookies and everyone swaps so that they end up with a variety of treats to take home.
Ugly Sweater Party:
An ugly sweater party is a hilarious way to show off your fashion sense (or lack thereof!) Everyone wears their craziest, tackiest holiday sweaters and enjoys food, drinks, and festive music.
Gingerbread House Decorating:
This is a fun activity for kids and adults alike. Purchase a gingerbread house decorating kit or make your own from scratch. Then, decorate the houses with frosting, candy, and other fun decorations.
The holiday season is a time for togetherness and joy. Whether you’re participating in traditions old or new, the most important thing is spending time with loved ones and spreading cheer wherever you go. Happy holidays!
