Spring is here and that means it’s time to start thinking about Easter! This year, why not try something a little different with your Easter baking? These Easter rolls, also known as empty tomb rolls or resurrection rolls, are a fun and delicious way to celebrate the holiday.
Ingredients
To make these Easter rolls, you’ll need:
- 1 can of crescent roll dough
- 8 large marshmallows
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Begin by mixing together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles. Dip each marshmallow in the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Place each marshmallow on top of a triangle of crescent roll dough. Carefully wrap the dough around the marshmallow, making sure to seal all edges. Repeat with all 8 marshmallows and triangles of dough.
Place the rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
When you bite into one of these Easter rolls, you’ll discover the “empty tomb” inside - the melted marshmallow that has disappeared, just as Jesus disappeared from his tomb on Easter morning. It’s a fun and delicious way to remember the true meaning of the holiday.
If you’re looking to add a little extra sweetness to your Easter celebration, consider serving these rolls alongside some other spring treats. A fruit salad made with fresh berries and citrus, or a batch of lemon cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, would be the perfect complement to these tasty rolls.
So this Easter, why not try something new and whip up a batch of these festive and meaningful Easter rolls? Your family and friends will love them, and you’ll love the opportunity to share in the joys of the season together.
