Printable First Day Of Kindergarten

Well hello there beautiful mama! I see you’re gearing up for your little one’s first day of kindergarten. You must be so excited! I mean, who wouldn’t be? All those precious little faces, with their backpacks almost as big as they are, ready to take on the world. But let’s be real, you’re probably feeling a tinge of sadness too. I mean, you’ve spent every day with that little cutie for the past five years, and suddenly they’re off to spend their days with a stranger in a room full of other little strangers. It’s a little scary!

But fear not my friend, you’ve got this!

First day of kindergarten printableFirst off, can we just take a second to appreciate the fact that there are now printables for everything? I mean, when I was a kid, my mom just took a picture of me in front of our house and called it good. Now you can find all sorts of cute signs and posters to document the big day. Like this adorable little number, complete with a place to fill in your little one’s name and their future career aspirations. So fun!

Now onto the logistics.

Kid with backpackFirst things first, have you labeled EVERYTHING? And I mean EVERYTHING. From their backpack to their crayons, make sure everything has their name on it. And don’t forget to pack an extra change of clothes. Accidents happen, and you don’t want your little one walking around in wet pants all day. Plus, it gives them a chance to show off their style with a cute new outfit.

Mom hugging kindergartnerNow, the drop-off. It’s okay to feel emotional, but try to hold it together until you’re out of sight of the other parents. No need to give them any extra reason to judge you, am I right? Give your little one a big hug and kiss and remind them how much you love them. And then quickly make your exit. The quicker you leave, the quicker they can start having a blast with their new friends!

And last but not least, remember to take care of yourself.

Mom relaxingIt can be tough, sending your little one off into the world without you. So make sure to take some time for yourself. Maybe treat yourself to a fancy coffee or a manicure. Or finally start that book you’ve been meaning to read. You deserve it mama. And before you know it, your little one will be home, chatting your ear off about their new friends and all the cool things they did that day.

So go ahead, take a deep breath and enjoy this moment. You’ve got this.
