As the leaves start to change colors and the weather gets cooler, it’s time to switch up our weekly menus. We’ve found a great resource for fall meal planning from the Orchard Girls with a beautiful printable menu.
Week 1
The first week’s menu features some classic fall flavors. We start off with a hearty squash soup made with butternut squash, carrots, and celery. The soup is topped with a dollop of sour cream and served with a slice of artisan bread. Our main course is a savory pot pie made with chicken, vegetables, and a flaky crust. We finish off the meal with a warm apple crisp served with vanilla ice cream.
Week 2
The second week’s menu features some comforting classics with a twist. We start off the meal with a roasted beet salad with mixed greens, feta cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette. Our main course is a shepherd’s pie with sweet potato topping instead of the traditional mashed potatoes. For dessert, we serve up a pumpkin cheesecake with a gingersnap crust.
Week 3
The third week’s menu features some family-friendly favorites. We start with a creamy tomato soup served with a grilled cheese sandwich. Our main course is a slow-cooked beef stew with root vegetables. We finish off the meal with a warm and gooey caramel apple pie.
Week 4
The fourth week’s menu features some international flavors. We start off with a chicken curry soup served with naan bread. Our main course is a vegetarian lasagna made with butternut squash, spinach, and ricotta cheese. We finish off the meal with a warm and spicy chai latte cake.
Using this printable menu as a guide, we can easily plan out our weekly meals and ensure we are enjoying seasonal flavors. Happy fall eating!
