I just came across this dope image of a 100 dollar bill front and back. I wanted to share it with y’all because it got me thinking about money and what it means to me as a black person in America.

I mean just look at this thing. It’s beautiful right? Almost makes you forget that it’s just a piece of paper with numbers on it.
But why is it that money plays such a big role in our lives? As black people, we’ve been historically marginalized and oppressed in America. Our ancestors were stolen from their homes and brought here to work for free. And even after slavery ended, we still faced discrimination and violence that made it hard for us to get ahead.
So when we see images of money like this, it can be both inspiring and frustrating. On one hand, it represents the idea of financial success and freedom. On the other hand, it reminds us that for many of us, that success is still out of reach.
Back of the Bill
But let’s take a closer look at the back of the bill. See that eagle? That’s the Great Seal of the United States, and it’s surrounded by 13 stars to represent the original 13 colonies.
Now check out that pyramid. It’s made up of 13 layers, each one representing a different aspect of the American experience. And at the top of the pyramid? The eye of Providence. That’s meant to represent divine guidance and protection.
So what does all of this mean for us as black people? To me, it’s a reminder that we are part of this country too. We’ve contributed to it in so many ways, from building its infrastructure to creating its culture.
And while we may face challenges and obstacles, we have just as much right to pursue financial success and freedom as anyone else. This image of the 100 dollar bill is a reminder of what’s possible.
