Hey everyone, it’s that time of year again! The time when we all start getting into the Christmas spirit! One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is to prepare for Santa’s arrival - and that includes making some magical treats for his trusty reindeer as well! I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a soft spot for Rudolph and the gang, and I just can’t have them go hungry or underappreciated during this special time of year!
Magical Reindeer Food
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking - what exactly is “magical reindeer food”? Well, it’s a special mix that we sprinkle on our lawns on Christmas Eve to attract Santa’s reindeer to our homes! Not only does it give the hardworking animals a little pick-me-up after their long journey, but it also helps guide them to our chimneys so they can deliver presents to all the good boys and girls!
So, let’s get started on making some of this magical reindeer food! It’s actually a breeze to prepare, and it’s a fun activity to do with the kids as well.
Ingredients
- Oatmeal
- Sugar
- Sprinkles
Directions
Mix the oatmeal and sugar together in a bowl. If you’re using regular oatmeal, you may want to throw it in the blender for a minute so it’s a bit finer. Then add some sprinkles - I like to use red and green ones to give it that festive look. Give the mixture a good stir, and voila! You now have your own homemade magical reindeer food!
When Christmas Eve arrives, head outside with your family and sprinkle the mixture on your lawn (or wherever you think the reindeer might land). You can even put some in a pretty bag with a cute little tag and hand them out to your neighbors, so their lawns will be just as magical as yours!
So there you have it folks, a fun and easy way to add a little extra cheer to your holiday season. And who knows, maybe Santa and his reindeer will be extra generous to all the houses with the magical reindeer food. Happy holidays to all, and to all a good night!
