Hand And Feet Game Printable

As a teacher, I’m always looking for fun and engaging activities to keep my students interested and motivated to learn. And recently, I found the perfect activity that my kiddos in class absolutely loved! It’s called Hand, Feet Hopscotch.

What is Hand, Feet Hopscotch?

Hand, Feet Hopscotch is a variation on the traditional game of hopscotch. Instead of using just your feet, you also use your hands to complete the course. This adds an extra level of challenge and interest to a classic game that has been played for generations.

Hand, Feet HopscotchAs you can see from the image above, the Hand, Feet Hopscotch course is made up of different hand and foot positions that the player must land on in order to complete the game. These positions are marked on the ground with chalk or tape, and can be easily customized to fit any age or skill level.

Why my students loved it?

One of the main reasons my students loved Hand, Feet Hopscotch is because it was a new and interesting twist on a game they already knew. They loved the challenge of using their hands as well as their feet, and it kept them engaged and motivated to keep playing and improving their skills.

Another reason they loved it was because it was a great way to get active and burn off some energy. In today’s world where many children spend so much time seated in front of screens, it’s important to find ways to encourage physical activity and play.

How to play Hand, Feet Hopscotch?

The rules of Hand, Feet Hopscotch are similar to traditional hopscotch, with a few key differences. Here’s a basic outline of how to play:

  1. Draw or mark a Hand, Feet Hopscotch course on the ground using chalk or tape. The course should be made up of different hand and foot positions that the player must land on in order to complete the game.
  2. The first player starts by throwing a small object, such as a pebble or beanbag, onto the first position of the course. The player must then hop or jump on one foot to that position, while also landing with the opposite hand on the next position. For example, if the first position is a left foot position, the player would throw the object onto that position, then hop to it on their right foot while landing on the next position with their left hand.
  3. The player must then continue along the course, alternating feet and hands as they go, without stepping on the lines or losing their balance. If they complete the course without making a mistake, they pick up the object and start again with the next position.
  4. If a player fails to complete the course successfully, it’s the next player’s turn. The winner is the player who completes the whole course successfully.

Of course, there are many variations and ways to make the game more challenging or easier, depending on the age and skill level of your players. The important thing is to have fun and encourage active play!
