Y’all know how important it is to learn about your body, and I found this online worksheet that’s perfect for 4th and 5th graders. Check out these dope body systems:
The Skeletal System
The skeletal system is like the foundation of your body. It keeps everything in place and protects your organs. Did you know that you’re born with about 300 bones but by the time you’re an adult you only have 206? Crazy, right?
The Muscular System
The muscular system helps you move and do all sorts of things, like jump, run, and dance. There are three types of muscles in your body: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac. Make sure you flex those muscles and stay active!
The Nervous System
The nervous system is like a big communication network in your body. It sends messages from your brain to different parts of your body so you can move and do stuff. Your brain is like the command center, and it sends messages through your nerves.
The Digestive System
The digestive system turns your food into energy that your body needs to function. When you eat, your food gets broken down in your stomach and intestines and then turned into nutrients. Make sure you eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water!
The Respiratory System
The respiratory system helps you breathe. You have two lungs and they take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. Your nose and mouth help to filter out any germs and particles in the air. Let’s take a deep breath together now, inhale and exhale.
The Circulatory System
The circulatory system moves blood through your body and helps to distribute all those nutrients from the food you eat. Your heart is the muscle that pumps blood around your body. Can you feel your heart beating right now?
Wow, there’s so much to learn about your body! Keep exploring and taking care of yourself, and keep being proud of that beautiful melanin. Peace out, y’all.
