But, we also know that a cheat sheet alone won’t win you a championship. So, let’s dive in and break down some of the key points to consider when drafting your team.
Quarterbacks
The quarterback position is undoubtedly one of the most important positions in fantasy football. But, don’t be swayed to select a quarterback too early in your draft. This year, there are plenty of viable options and you can pick up a quality starter in the later rounds. Don’t forget to consider the strength of schedule when selecting your quarterback. Take note of the teams that your quarterback will face in the playoffs as well.
Running Backs
The running back position is notoriously unpredictable year-to-year. This year is no exception. Trust us when we say that there will be plenty of running backs who emerge as quality starters. We advise spending your early-round picks on top-tier running backs who have a proven track record of consistent production. Make sure to consider the strength of their offensive line and the team’s overall offensive system. Don’t forget to target high-end handcuffs in the later rounds, just in case your starting running back goes down with an injury.
Wide Receivers
The wide receiver position is deep this year and there are plenty of quality options to choose from. Our advice? Focus on volume. Look for wide receivers who are targeted often and consistently by their quarterback. Make sure to take notice of how often they are targeted in the red zone, as touchdowns are key to fantasy production. And, with the rise of dual-threat quarterbacks, don’t be afraid to target a receiver who also frequently rushes for yards or touchdowns.
Tight Ends
The tight end position is top-heavy this year. There are a few elite players, such as Travis Kelce and George Kittle, who are worth using an early-round pick on. But, after those top players are selected, the position becomes quite volatile. Look for tight ends who have a solid role in their team’s offensive system and and consistently receive a fair amount of targets. Also, consider targeting tight ends who have a solid quarterback connection and are frequently targeted in the red zone.
Defense and Kickers
The defense and kicker positions are constant sources of frustration for fantasy players. But, don’t worry. There are actually a few key points to consider when selecting your defense and kicker. For defense, make sure to target a team that has a strong pass rush and favors man-to-man coverage. And, don’t forget to take into consideration their opponents and any injury concerns. For kickers, make sure to target players who play for high-scoring offenses and also attempt a lot of field goals.
And there you have it - our Fantasy Football Draft Guide Cheat Sheet and breakdown of some key points to consider when drafting your team. Good luck, and may the odds be forever in your favor!
