Hey fam,
Living with diabetes can be a real struggle. It can be tough to figure out what to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat. That’s why I wanted to share these 5 printable charts with y’all. They’re super helpful when it comes to planning meals that won’t mess with your blood sugar levels.
Chart 1
This chart breaks down different types of food into categories like “starches,” “fruits,” and “meats.” Then, it tells you how much of each type of food you should aim to eat in a day. For example, it says that you should try to eat 3-5 servings of vegetables each day, and 2-4 servings of fruit.
Chart 2
This chart is all about portion sizes. It shows you what one serving of different types of food looks like. For example, one serving of cooked pasta is about the size of a hockey puck.
Chart 3
This chart is similar to the first one, but it breaks down each food group even further. For example, it lists all the different types of “starches” you might eat, like bread, cereal, pasta, and rice. Then, it tells you how much of each type of starch is equal to one serving.
Chart 4
This chart is a little different. Instead of telling you how much of each type of food to eat, it gives you a list of “good” and “bad” foods for diabetes. For example, it says that you should try to eat more whole grains, nuts, and seeds, but avoid processed foods, sugary drinks, and fried foods.
Chart 5
This chart is all about “superfoods” for diabetes. It lists different types of foods that are especially good for folks with diabetes. For example, it says that you should eat more leafy greens, berries, and fish.
I hope these charts are helpful for y’all. Remember, managing diabetes takes time and effort, but it’s so important for your health. Keep taking care of yourselves, fam.
