Hey y’all, are you tired of constantly nagging your kids to do their chores? Welp, we’ve got a solution for you! Check out these free printable weekly chore charts from Paper Trail Design. These bad boys are the perfect way to get your kids to actually take responsibility around the house.
How It Works
First things first, make sure you’ve got the chore chart printed out and ready to go. We recommend printing out enough copies for each kid in your household, along with an extra one for yourself so you can keep track of everything (you know how it is).
Once you’ve got your stack of chore charts ready, it’s time to assign some chores! Take a look at the kids’ ages and assign age-appropriate chores, such as taking out the trash, feeding the pets, or washing the dishes.
For younger kids who may not be able to read yet, consider using pictures instead of words to help them understand what they need to do. You can easily find pictures online or draw your own.
Once the chores have been assigned, it’s time to decide on a reward system. This could be something as simple as a gold star for each chore completed, or a larger reward at the end of the week, such as a trip to the park or a movie night.
Why It Works
So why are these chore charts so helpful? For starters, they help teach kids responsibility and accountability by assigning them specific tasks. When they see their progress throughout the week, it gives them a sense of accomplishment and encourages them to continue doing their chores.
Additionally, having a chore chart in place eliminates the need for constant reminding and nagging from parents. When the kids know exactly what they need to do and when, it takes the pressure off of parents and makes everyone’s lives a little easier! And let’s be real, who doesn’t want that?
So go ahead and give these free printable weekly chore charts a try! You might be surprised at how much easier it makes your life (and your kids’ lives) in the long run.
